rakija, cheap ciggs and some real vacation in Montenegro (part 7)

sleeping in the shop has one real disadvantage - you don’t have any shower included. but fortunately Dubravko’s shop was placed close to the beach and he told us there are some showers near by. as I discovered later - none of them was working. anyway, there was still some water in the sea, and so my hair were salty for the next week… but who cares.

Anna adopt two cactuses and we spent some time having fun in the purest water of Adriatic sea, but we eventually had to get back to Magistrala and continue our journey. when we got to the centre, we had no more Croatian money (kn). but the bus driver was so nice to take us to Magistrala for free. at 1 pm we were sitting on the wrong side of the road naming Anna’s cactuses (Wilhelm and Enrique) in the burning sun.

after changing sides and an hour of waiting a young guy in a nice car stopped. he told us in the beginning that he was only going to the Dubrovnik’s airport, but he actually took us straight to the Montenegrian border. and then we had to walk for 2 km to reach the second border station… we were going down, but anyway I remember to be damn tired. I thought taking a guitar to be the worst idea ever.

fortunately, on the other side of the border we met a couple from Warsaw. they took us all the way to Kotor, following the beautiful road around the Kotor’s Bay. in Kotor we made some local discoveries. first of all, never order the Serbian salad, ‘cos it’s way too spicy. second of all, hallelujah! the cigarettes cost almost nothing. and third of all, everything else costs a lot, ‘cos they’re using euro as a local currency.

around 9 pm we catched a car going straight to Budva, where our host Vuk was supposed to wait for us. in the car there travelled a man with his daughter. she was dressed in her pijamas and her father told us that she demanded to sleep in Budva that night, so he was taking her to one of their two houses. soon the little girl fell asleep on Anna and she was really disappointed when her pillow disappeared.

Vuk met us on a parking and took us to his house, where we also met his girlfriend Ivana. the idea for the evening was to buy some rakija and get wasted. in result, we spent almost two hours looking for a decent rakija, then we drank two glasses and fell asleep on a very stangely profiled sofa.
